Commissions

special paintings created just for you.

How to Order

Ever since I started painting I’ve been able to translate people’s stories into works of art, making their dream painting coming to life. This is probably the most rewarding part of my business, having the privilege to share ideas, stories and deep emotions with my customers. The process of working on a commission inevitably creates a special bond between us: there are no boundaries between the artist, the artwork and the story told.

I accept to paint on commission only and exclusively if I have the freedom to express my artistic interpretation about the subject requested. I do not accept every request due to my deep and sincere respect I have for my customers who know that I only paint what truly inspires me and what I’m 100% sure can have the right amount/quality of time dedicated to its creation.

My focus is to keep my work real and authentic so please do not ask me to paint works inspired to someone else’s painting or to copy something I have already painted. I often paint tributes to the great masters of the past but they are never a copy or reproduction of their works.

If you would like to commission a painting kindly schedule a meeting or a phone call with me to go through your ideas and see if we meet somewhere between your vision and my interpretation.

How much do you charge?
Probably the most difficult question, is like asking “how long is a piece of string”?

Timing

The process of commissioning an artwork can last anywhere from 3 to 8 months.
The steps are very simple:

  • Agreeing on a concept:
This normally takes only a couple of weeks once the first discussion is made and we both know what are we on to.
  • Agreeing on a size and price:
A quick process of understanding what are the best sizes for the painting requested according to the space the artwork is going to be designated for. Prices for commissions are not negotiable however payment plans are.
  • Developing a draft as a guiding inspiration for the artwork:
Once we agree on the previous steps I’ll work on a basic draft to give you an idea of how I intend to structure the artwork. This process can take a month as we will go back and forth with ideas.
  • Execute the painting:
Depending on the artwork, the creating process can take anywhere from 1 to 4 months.
  • Drying time
Depending on the texture of the artwork and the medium used drying time varies from 1 to 5 months.
  • Varnishing time:
    Allow 1 week
  • Shipping time:
Anywhere from 48h to 10 days, depending where are you in the world
